Harp Intensive
Ready to take your harp skills to the next level? A harp intensive can accelerate your progress by providing a structure for focused, intensive study.
Open to intermediate and advanced students, a harp intensive is a two- to four-week period of time (usually in the summer) during which a student takes two 60-minute lessons per week and commits to two to four hours of practice per day, at least five days per week. |
Before an intensive, a student will make a personalized plan through discussion with the instructor. During the intensive, the student will log practice hours and progress toward goals. Upon completion of the intensive, the student will be awarded a certificate showing the number of weeks completed and the average number of hours of practice per day. The student will be recognized for this achievement at the Brumwell Harp Studio's annual spring recital.
Levels of recognition:
The only cost to enroll in an intensive is the cost for additional lesson time (lesson time beyond what is paid via the student's monthly tuition), billed at $54 per additional 60-minute lesson. After the student and instructor make a personalized intensive plan, the instructor will calculate how many extra lessons will be charged, based on the student's current lesson count. The cost will be presented to the student or parent for approval before the start of the intensive.
Levels of recognition:
- Cum Laude: Average of two hours of practice per day, five days per week (at least 10 hours per week)
- Magna Cum Laude: Average of three hours per day, five days per week (at least 15 hours per week)
- Summa Cum Laude: Average of four or more hours per day, five days per week (at least 20 hours per week)

An intensive is not for everyone! It takes passion and dedication to practice multiple hours per day. But if this sounds like an intriguing challenge, you may be ready to leap in and take your skills to the next level!
